Interesting News On Telephone Corporations

By: Mathew Petrenko

Are you confident in there are sixty seconds in one minute? But lately one of the IDT corporations declared that most of companies, which provide calling cards, propose only 36 seconds instead of 60. Lots of reputed companies asserted that it can't be any fair competition if one of rivals has unjust advantages before the beginning of a rivalry. Last year IDT/UTA (Union Telecard Alliance) began a lawsuit against some corporations-providers of prepaid phone cards alleging false advertisement and misleading commerce practices.

According to IDT media survey, some of their rivals only give 60 percent of the declared minutes to the consumer. In November 2007 Total Call International, Inc. and IDT/UTA have received a complete settlement of the lawsuit delivered by IDT Telecom, Inc. and Union Telecard Alliance, LLC against Total Call. Earlier IDT/UTA started legal procedure versus the group of defendants for three times. Today there is a list of other accused includes about six corporations and some of them are: Epana Networks Inc., Dollar Phone Corp., etc.. IDT/UTA's suit against the residuary accused is still continuing in federal tribunal in Newark, New Jersey. Recently, one of softswitch developers released his advanced conditions of paying the telephone services. Thereafter any client can independently determine the length of the minute, not to pay for the minutes he doesn't utilize. But this innovation is not their invention. From now, every phone card corporation should reorganize all the terms and the mode of payment this way.

So when you get a international phone card for $20.00 with 2000 minutes and you realize that it is too good to be true - maybe it is! You need to choose properly the cards to be assured you're buying what you pay for. The good news is that the corporations mentioned above agreed to get back 100 percent of the minutes prescribed to client. If the companies, prosecuted by the judicial authority, agreed the suggestion faster, they would get a ability to be excluded from the list of offenders. They have to agree to promote industry best practices and rules which defend consumers of pay before hand card systems and that set up a level playing field for all corporations that , and provide telecommunications services for, prepaid cards. The methods, that can precisely examine all the operations connected to the prepaid cards, will be developed by that corporations. The participants consented to promote the effective monitoring system open for everyone who would like to control the actions.
