We will have to redefine the term ‘physical world’ in order to understand the current realm of UFO abduction literature. This is because UFO abductees have so much stretched and distorted their world that it defies all the modern science.
Testimony of UFO Abductees
Things that are included in the testimony from abductees are levitation, paralysis, telepathy, and startling visions. If you try to ignore these reports, it is just like ignoring the vast amount of evidence that seems to be mounting from many personal accounts. On the other hand, if you cannot also accept these reports blindly because then it means that you are accepting the data whose source is testimony from hypnosis, vague memories, and spontaneous recall, which is not at all prudent.
Looking Closer At Abductee's Testimony
In the last decade only, Budd Hopkins and Whitley Strieber, who are UFO abduction researchers, strongly promoted the notion of physical abductions as a norm for UFO contact with humans. However, there is also a new perspective on the abduction phenomena, offered by researcher Ann Druffel and published in a UFO magazine. This perceptive has entirely changed the focus of abduction. It has altered the focus of the UFO abduction from something physical to something within the mind. The article goes on to report that Emily, the alleged abductee, could also use mental effort to wake her roommate and break the abduction paralysis. In one more case, Ms. Druffel finds that the abductee was able to break out of the alleged 'contact' by making a sound or mantra within her. Thus, Breaking out of the alleged abduction by shear force of will is in itself a proof that specifies the non-physical nature of abductee’s testimony.
Lack of Coincidence from Report to Report
If you go through the varied testimony of abductees, you will get a sense of the lack of coincidence from report to report. You may also feel that the abductors take them 'by hand' into waiting UFO's. However, before the 'Communion' and 'Intruders' phenomenon, astrophysicist and UFO researcher Jacques Vallee cautioned the conception of UFO's as being something truly physical. His theory interestingly encounters with another reality. What he has to suggest is that the intelligence community worldwide is probably oblivious of the most aspects of the UFO phenomena.
Overall, irrespective of whether they are extraterrestrial or not, it seems that abductions by UFOs are much more psychological in nature than physical. However, still the common belief is that they are physical.
